About Me

Dolores Baretta has dedicated her life to travel, food and health. Although she grew up in Australia she has since lived in the UK and UAE and now lives for the past 22 years in Switzerland. She currently divides her time between Europe and Africa.

Dolores is a certified acupuncturist and nutritional specialist, as well as a hotel owner, marathon runner and avid traveler. She combines all these attributes into healthy living, adventure travelling and discovering great food from around the world.

When not overseeing the running of her hotel in Zanzibar she advises patients on nutrition and healthy living, gives acupuncture sessions as well as contributing articles on health and travel. She participates in endurance and trail running races around the world and is always looking for the next adventure.

Villa bluu

Villa Bluu is located in one of the most spectacular locations in the South East of Zanzibar, on a coral rock cliff, offering our guests breath-taking views over the Indian Ocean.

Villa Bluu offers multiple facilities including a pool table, fine dining restaurant and a cocktail bar. Our infinity pool provides the perfect setting where you can soak up the sun, listening to the sounds of the blue ocean beyond.

We offer four luxury rooms which are spacious, bright and elegantly furnished with a stunning sea front view. Each room has a private balcony, high speed WIFI, spacious, stylish bathroom and a king size bed where you can kick back and take in the beautiful views from your balcony.

Being healthy, unfortunately, is not a God given right. It is something that has to be worked at constantly. Sometimes it even means sacrifice. I train five days a week, even on days where I don’t want to get out of bed. I devote time to my health.

I enjoy running half marathons and eat an egg free and dairy free diet. In addition to this, I take time away from work to centre myself and give myself a break. I enjoy my health which allows me to travel and do all the activities that are my passion.
